COVID-19 update – impacts to your CPA services

COVID-19 update - impacts to your CPA services
Posted on Sun 27 Jun 2021

Good afternoon to all our clients, families, representatives and friends,

You are now, no doubt, aware the NSW Government has a lockdown in place for Greater Sydney, Wollongong, Shellharbour, Central Coast and the Blue Mountains.

I understand this will be a very stressful time for families who live or work in the regions impacted by this lockdown. Many of you will again miss out on holidays, visiting loved ones, and for some, the isolation will be very tough.

I want you to know the health and welfare of our clients and their families is central to all our decisions. As such, we will fully comply with the NSW Health Orders as issued yesterday.

This means that from Monday 28th June through to and including Friday 9th July, CPA sites in these regions will be closed, except for essential services.

For clients attending services in ACT and regional NSW, your services will continue. However, in line with NSW Health Orders, masks should be worn if possible when attending services.

What does this mean for your services?

  • For clients in CPA Accommodation, our teams will work as normal to ensure all client needs are supported. Visits to clients in their CPA home will be limited to essential compassionate purposes only, in line with NSW Health Orders. Additionally, we will redirect more of our Support Practitioners into homes, to ensure clients can comply with lockdown requirements.
  • For clients who attend Day Programs or Packforce, we will adopt a gradual wind-down of operations. This means Day Programs and Packforce will operate as normal on Monday 28th and Tuesday 29th June, while we assess essential needs and close certain programs for the lockdown period.
  • For clients with Therapy, Coaching, Exercise or Gym appointments, these will be rescheduled from tomorrow (Monday 28th June) to a date post lockdown or, where possible, to Telepractice.
  • The Allambie Dental Clinic and Allambie Pool will be closed for the lockdown period.
  • All Holiday Camps and Programs will be cancelled, along with all Sports training and sessions, unless there are options to provide virtual access via Telepractice.
  • In-home Support services will be undertaken where considered to be essential. We ask all clients and families accessing home services to wear face masks if possible.
  • For clients who have Individualised Programs scheduled, the Program Manager will contact you to discuss impacts and options.
  • For any clients with Respite appointments, we will contact you to discuss arrangements.

Please be assured our dedicated team of Client Services Consultants (CSC) will be working through this lockdown. They will contact you directly if you have an appointment for service with CPA during this period. Please also be aware that any cancellations made tomorrow and throughout the lockdown will not incur any cancellation fees.

For emergency, essential services please contact your Client Services Consultant directly, on 1300 888 378 during business hours, or email ask@cerebralpalsy.org.au.

Tomorrow, we will post more information on our website to support you during this period. I would also encourage you to familiarise yourselves with the latest information and advice on the NSW Health Department’s website

On behalf of the CPA team, I want you to know we are only a phone call away, and our people are on standby to respond to your questions and concerns.

Stay safe and best wishes,

Rob White, CEO
