Pre-conference session
“Infinite Horizons: A Workshop for Everyone – Babies to Adults with Cerebral Palsy, Real People to AI Advancements”, presented by both CP-ACHIEVE and our team, engaged participants with hot topics in CP research.
The DRIVE CP Centre for Research Excellence was showcased, including our progress with faster treatments, more accurate prediction and universal screening. Powerful partnerships, presented by individuals with lived experience, invited us to see diagnosis, early intervention and priority setting through their captivating stories. We were introduced to faster diagnosis using AI and why it is so challenging. Automated scoring of general movements assessments and demonstrations of the mHealth app prototype, TRANSMIT left attendees very excited! Finally, new clinical trials in early communications and preschool bimanual training gave participants a window into research underway right now.
Research partner lunch
After the presentation, the team invited our research partners to join us for lunch on the patio at a favourite local restaurant. This provided a relaxed environment where ideas could continue to flow freely, fostering stronger relationships and encouraging further collaboration. Our research partners expressed their appreciation for the opportunity to connect with each other and with researchers, outside the formal conference setting, noting that such interactions are key for the ongoing success of our co-design research model.
