“No day is the same,” she says. “We’re there in all aspects of a client’s life, helping them achieve goals and create new ones.”
From mealtimes and personal care, to building confidence and social skills, Esra works alongside her clients to support them in their daily routine. At the heart of her role is helping each person grow their independence and feel connected to their community.
One of the most rewarding parts of her work is seeing progress over time. Esra recalls supporting a client who experienced challenges with communication. With the support of a speech therapist and consistent practice, she saw a remarkable transformation.
“To see him go from not being able to have conversations to now being able to pull peers in for a chat… it’s amazing.”
For Esra, these moments are what matter most. She is passionate about helping clients achieve goals they may once have thought were impossible.
“My big dream for all my clients is for them to be as independent as they possibly can be… A client may have thought that a goal was impossible… [then they] achieve that goal, that’s what’s really exciting.”
She also values the strong sense of teamwork at Cerebral Palsy Alliance, where connection between staff flows through to the people they support.
“If my team is happy and motivated, my clients feel happy, encouraged and motivated too.”
By celebrating each person’s strengths and differences, Esra helps create an environment where meaningful connections can grow, and where every achievement, big or small, makes a lasting impact.
