Children should participate in daily moderate to vigorous physical activity, and muscle and bone strengthening activities on 3 days per week. Specific activities can be chosen for improvements in fitness, walking, mobility, participation and quality of life. Activities are chosen to suit children’s interests and enjoyment.
Children who use walking frames and wheelchairs can participate in physical activity safely. Physical activities can be individualised to suit their needs. Specific training, rather than a generalised approach, is important to achieve physical and fitness goals.
