In turn, participating more helps their physical, social and emotional development.
Your child is more likely to take part in tasks and activities if they’re fun. This will increase their enjoyment and participation and improve the chances of them reaching their goals. It is best that your child chooses their own leisure activities based on what they enjoy, rather than just for therapy outcomes. It is important they participate in leisure activities in real life environments alongside peers as part of everyday life. You and your child can work together with a therapist to identify barriers that may limit participation and as a team work on problem solving and reducing those barriers.
