This means that people with a disability can be employed while their individual support needs are being met. (eg personal care).
The skills and training offered are tailored to the goals of the individual employee. Tasks can range from assembling, labelling and packing products to higher level duties, such as using warehouse machinery, or acquiring a forklift licence. Packforce has an inclusive environment where everyone is recognised and equally valued for their contribution.
Each supported employee has a unique background and skillset, some may be recent school-leavers while others may have previously participated in work experience or mainstream employment.
If your future goal is mainstream employment, Packforce can be a great steppingstone. You can learn at your own pace and with the support of our Employment Development Officers, you can work toward achieving goals that you set in your Individualised Employment Plan.
Once you have acquired more skills and confidence you may like to consider engaging with a Disability Employment Service (DES) to help secure work in mainstream employment. You also have the option to work in both mainstream and supported employment, this gives you the confidence to try mainstream employment knowing you still have a position at Packforce.
