Being able to communicate and interact with people around us is the most fundamental human skill. As a baby grows, they begin to form an attachment with their family and eventually learn cooing, babble, and eventually words. Babies learn by listening, observing, and most importantly by “talking” with others. Babies typically enjoy looking at the person’s face and imitate facial expressions and sounds. In order to learn about the world and to have something to communicate about, babies learn to move around to explore their world. Babies and young children are eager to learn about and explore their surroundings. We learn from a young age how to move our bodies, and how to use movement to perform everyday activities.
