KINGSWOOD – Powered Wheel Chair Intensive – July School Holidays

The power chair intensive is an opportunity for clients to increase/develop their skills in their power chair as well as assess and trial equipment that will best meet their mobility needs.

The OT and physio team will work collaboratively across the week with suppliers assessing clients and trialling equipment.

NOTE

  • Our therapy team needs volunteers to help with all aspects of the Powered Wheel Chair Intensive program
  • Tasks include setting up and packing down equipment, help to set activities, and of course supporting our clients
  • No experienced required 
  • Please note due to the on-going COVID-19 situation, you may be required to wear a mask which will be provided to you.

 

DATES: 3rd July to 6th of July

TIME: 8.30am - 4.30pm each day

LOCATION:  Cerebral Palsy Alliance, Kingswood

 

 VOLUNTEER ROLE 

  • work with children and young adults (ages 3-21) to improve clients skills with power chairs
  • support therapists to assess and trial equipment
  • Come and have fun and learn yourself!!!

As a Power Wheel Chair Intensive volunteer you'll be helping our therapy team to deliver a fun and engaging program that enables participants to improve their power wheel chair competencies including: 

  • developing skills in assessing client needs 
  • gain practical experience that aligns with learning outcomes of your Allied Health course
  • receive a certificate of attendance.
  • Meet some pretty great clients

 

Please note - All volunteers will need to complete an online NDIS disability module, NDIS worker Check and WWC check prior to starting the role
