PRAIRIEWOOD – Come & Try Frame Running (Race running) – July School Holidays

Our Therapy team will be running the Come & Try Frame Running (race running) program for those client who want to try something new.

Frame Running (Race Running) is an innovative sport for people of all ages with a disability who have impaired balance and are unable to functionally run.

Participants have an opportunity to try Frame Running for the first time. Frame Running provides each individual the freedom to move and run in a supported and balanced way without a walker, wheelchair or similar device. 

DATE: 13th July 2023 

SESSION TIMES: 9.00am - 5.00pm

LOCATION: Cerebral Palsy Alliance - Prairiewood - 224/244 Restwell Rd Prairiewood

     VOLUNTEER ROLE

    • Our therapy team needs volunteers to help with all aspects of the Frame Running program
    • Tasks include setting up and packing down equipment, help to set activities, and of course supporting our clients
    • No experienced required 
    • Please note due to the on-going COVID-19 situation, you may be required to wear a mask which will be provided to you.

    • Improve mobility
    • Preparation for racing and competing for advanced participants

    • Improves fitness
    • practice taking instructions and applying their new skills in a group environment

    NOTE - COVID-19 - IMPORTANT INFORMATION

    Visitors to CPA sites are required to comply with our safe working/volunteering protocols including:

    • Revised sign in procedures for all visitors and staff including temperature checks and screening 
    • Up to date Covid vaccination including booster within 6 months of second dose
    • Practice physical distancing as per guidelines provided
    • Restricted visitor numbers per site (to ensure physical distancing can be safely followed)
    • Single entry and exit point per site
    • Additional personal hygiene and cleaning responsibilities for all visitors and staff to follow
    • All Staff and Volunteers will be asked to wear a mask (which will be supplied) whilst in a client-facing program or role
