Lauren Hansen
Position: Exercise Physiologist & Clinical Supervisor

I love my job because…

I find it highly rewarding to assist clients to reach their unique goals. These have been as varied as climbing the Sydney Harbour Bridge or Mount Kosciuszko; learning how to roll independently in bed; or having the skills and confidence to participate in PE classes at school, school sports and swimming carnivals. No matter how big or small the goal, I understand how much it matters to the client, and am eager to support them to achieve it. Another rewarding aspect of my job is the opportunity to watch families meet one another and see their children become friends and therapy become fun.

I can help you with…

Supporting the team of Exercise Physiologists to work with a wide range of clients following evidence-based practice with the guidance of our research and clinical governance teams in my role as clinical supervisor. I’ve also delivered hydrotherapy training courses within Cerebral Palsy Alliance alongside physiotherapists since 2013 to families, carers and therapists looking to extend their hydrotherapy skills and research. I graduated from the University of New South Wales as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist, and throughout my study gained experience working as a swimming instructor and coach prior to my employment at Allambie Hydrotherapy pool.
