Working together globally – CPA launches Global Clinical Trials Network

Cerebral Palsy Alliance (CPA) is proud to announce the launch of the CP Global Clinical Trials Network, an initiative made possible by the Elsass Foundation that is set to advance research and clinical trials for cerebral palsy (CP) on a global scale.

The CP Global Clinical Trials Network aims to unite researchers, clinicians, and healthcare professionals worldwide to advance the understanding and treatment of cerebral palsy – together.

This innovative network aims to streamline and accelerate clinical trials, making it easier for researchers to collaborate across borders, share knowledge, and ultimately improve outcomes for individuals with CP.

The CP Global Clinical Trials Network will pioneer:

  • global collaboration among leading researchers and institutions, promoting the sharing of data, resources, and expertise to create faster and more effective clinical trials.
  • the design of clinical trials with the needs and experiences of individuals with CP and their families in mind, to improve participation and outcomes.
  • collaboration of cutting-edge research from around the globe and support of promising research initiatives, with the goal of identifying new treatments and interventions that can significantly improve quality of life for those with CP.
  • a centralised platform with access to trials so information can be found about ongoing clinical trials and how to get involved.

“We are thrilled to launch the CP Global Clinical Trials Network, which represents a major step forward in our mission to create a world of possibility for people with cerebral palsy,” said Professor Iona Novak, Chair of Allied Health, Head of Research Translation.

“This network will overcome barriers to collaboration and bring together the best minds in CP research from around the globe. We believe this will lead to faster advancements in treatment and care, ultimately transforming the lives of those affected by CP.”

The CP Global Clinical Trials Network webpage is now live and can be accessed at https://cerebralpalsy.org.au/our-research/cp-global-clinical-trials-network/ .

We invite people living with cerebral palsy, their families and carers, researchers, doctors, allied health workers to explore the network’s goals, find out more about ongoing clinical trials, and learn how they can contribute to this groundbreaking effort.
