Utility of the Bayley Scales of Infant and Toddler Development-III Accommodated for Children with Cerebral Palsy

Many developmental assessments require children to show us what they know by using their hands to interact with toys. This is not accessible for some children with cerebral palsy. We are evaluating how children with CP complete a developmental assessment that has been adapted for motor and vision impairments.

Who can participate?

  • Children aged 12 to 24 months who are at risk of CP, or who have CP;
  • Who are exposed to English as their primary language;
  • and who have some difficulty with the use of their hands (Mini MACS level 2-4.)

What does it involve?

At ages 12 and/or 24 months your child will complete 2 versions of a developmental assessment. It will take approximately 1.5 hours and can be done over 1 or 2 sessions depending on your child.

Closing date: June 2025
