The Billbergia Bennelong Bridge Run (BBBRun) is not just another running event; it’s a community celebration that champions inclusivity and well-being.
Organised by social enterprise, True Sports Events, this initiative was born in 2016 out of a desire to create a running event open to everyone, regardless of physical ability.
This year’s event on 20 October 2024 introduced a half marathon, as well as a 2km family fun run to a 10km wheelchair race and a 500m frame running race (also known as race running).
Three young participants – Quinn, Noah and Matthew – from our frame running program in Kingswood attended, supported by physiotherapists Rex Chan and Sachini Loku.

Quinn was the youngest participant at just three years old. Her mother, Alicia, shared her heartfelt experience of the event. “Quinn absolutely loves everything about frame running,” Alicia said. “From playing games with her therapist to socialising with other children, frame running gives her something that is just for her. Watching her take part in the BBBRun was overwhelming in the best way. When she rounded the last bend, seeing the crowd cheer her name, it was a moment of pure pride and joy.”
Quinn participated in two races during the event—a 500m frame run and a 2km family fun run. Competing in the 500m race, Quinn placed third among the female participants, an impressive achievement for her very first event. But more than the result, what mattered most to her family was the joy and excitement Quinn experienced.

11-year-old Matthew came 3rd in the 500m frame race, which put a huge smile on his face. Noah’s mum, Monalisa commented on the family support and what a positive impact the event had on them all.
“Noah’s frame running coaches, physiotherapist, big brother and aunties were there pushing him along. We jogged alongside, cheered him on, and although Noah was shy, he made it to the finish line twice. Noah was soooo happy, showing off his medals! He is now excited for next year’s race!”

For CPA therapist Rex Chan, the BBBRun provided a perfect platform to celebrate the achievements of his clients. “It was such a privilege to be part of this event with Noah, Matthew and Quinn,” Rex shared. “They all did exceptionally well, especially considering they only started their frame running journeys earlier this year. Quinn placing third was a huge surprise and a wonderful validation of all the hard work she’s put in.”
The BBBRun also serves as a fundraiser for Frame Running Australia, a charity founded by Richard Keith, who is well known to CPA, as the father of CPA ambassador and elite athlete Arran Keith. The funds raised help provide more individuals with mobility challenges access to specially designed running frames, empowering them to enjoy the freedom of movement alongside able-bodied runners.
Events like these create opportunities for children like Quinn, Noah and Matthew to shine, breaking down barriers and encouraging everyone—regardless of ability—to get involved. As Quinn’s mum, Alicia beautifully summed up,
“This event made me feel like I accomplished something as a parent. It reminded me that we’re giving Quinn the opportunities she deserves, and that’s something to be proud of.”
