Across two intensive weeks, children aged 2–5 took part in daily sessions designed to help them achieve important everyday milestones. From walking up and down stairs, to eating with a spoon and fork, opening food packets, putting on jackets, and even learning to bowl – the progress was remarkable. With determination, creativity, and the right support, these young participants showed just how much is possible.

HABIT-ILE (Hand-Arm Bimanual Intensive Training Including Lower Extremities) is an evidence-based therapy program developed in Belgium in 2011. It draws on the science of neuroplasticity to help children achieve functional improvements through repetitive, goal-focused practice. By blending one-on-one therapy with group-based activities, the program is both highly effective and engaging for young children.
Earlier this year, Kingswood became the first Cerebral Palsy Alliance site to deliver HABIT-ILE for 2-5-year-olds outside of a research setting. The pilot was such a success that the program returned – with outstanding outcomes once again.
Parents described the program as “life-changing,” with one family sharing:
“I would like to thank you for an amazing 2 weeks. The past 2 weeks have been life-changing for us. We have met some very beautiful people and have achieved some great goals!”

The children’s progress was made possible thanks to Clinical Lead Erlyn, alongside therapists Stelina, Sachini, Sharon, and Sarah. Their expertise, creativity, and care ensured therapy was not only effective, but also fun and motivating.
Congratulations to our Kingswood graduates – we’re so proud of your achievements!
