  • Preschool (3-5 years) and primary (6-12 years) school aged children, who are able to understand and follow simple instructions and cope in a group environment.
  • Children must attend the entire 5-day program.

Mighty Kids is a functional, activities-based intensive intervention approach designed specifically for children with disabilities.

The program provides 1:1 intensive practice with a therapist, who will adapt and change tasks specifically to your child, to enable long-lasting individual improvements. This constant variable nature of practice enables your child’s skills to be achieved not only in a therapy setting, but also at home, school, or in the community.

We work with your child and your family to identify key goals around fine or gross motor skills development. Goals may include:

  • Fine motor skills such as dressing, tying shoelaces, cutting, or drawing
  • Improvement in the speed and legibility of handwriting
  • Stability and balance in sitting, jumping and hopping skills
  • Stability and balance in walking, running, or riding a bike
  • Using a knife, fork, spoon during meals
  • Typing skills and speed of typing

Mighty Kids includes a total of 40 hours of service:

  • 35 hours of one-on-one intensive therapy in a group setting runs over a five-day period.
  • 3 hours of one-on-one pre-assessment, goal setting, post-assessment meetings and outcome review, and an NDIS service summary report for your NDIS planning meeting.
  • 2 hours of follow-up session post program to consolidate skills gain into natural environment.
  • A custom-designed home program to further develop your child’s skills at home.
  • Intensive therapy accelerates improvements in gross motor skills in a short time period resulting in long lasting results.
  • During the preschool years a child learns various new gross motor skills which are vital for playing with their peers and building self-esteem.
  • Children who have already developed strong gross motor skills but just need to stabilise or perfect a skill often benefit most from intensive therapy.
  • Between the ages 6 -12 years children fine tune and perfect their gross motor skills. This is a key time to work on strengthening and improving skills obtained in early childhood.

I would definitely recommend it. 100%. Don’t worry that they’re going to be upset with you leaving them. She was just excited to be here.
