It’s important to support children to be part of their communities in a safe way.
Between the ages of 7-12 children refine their movement, mobility and motor skills. Sport and skill-based hobbies help to improve their personal development. They seek opportunities to make new friends, spend time with their peers, and family. The focus for this age group is optimising independent movement for participation. Assistive technology is important in this age group as their world expands.
We encourage children in this age group to set their own goals to make therapy more meaningful. This will increase their enjoyment and participation, motivating them to reach their goals.
