The AAC Day Out Program is back this July!
We are excited to bring back the AAC Day Out, offering kids and teenagers the opportunity to enhance their communications skills through the functional use of their AAC system.
The AAC Day Out is designed for AAC system users of all levels and abilities, providing a positive learning environment for participants to feel more confident in their communication skills when using their AAC devices.
Participants will also enjoy a range of social activities including baking, gardening and games.
Who is this program for?
- Children and teenagers aged 6-17 years
Primary School Students (6-12 years)
- Dates: Thursday 7, Friday 8, Thursday 14 and Friday 15 July
- Time: 9 am - 12 pm
High School Students (13-17 years)
- Dates: Thursday 7, Friday 8, Thursday 14 and Friday 15 July
- Time: 1:30 am - 4:30 pm
What does this program involve?
- A range of fun activities suited to individuals' interests, ages and skill level
What are the expected outcomes?
Improve AAC competencies including:
- Linguistic – learning and using language skills
- Operational – operating and using the AAC system
- Social – using communication for social purpose
- Strategic – repairing communication breakdowns
