Fun, Friends and Fitness through Sport

CPA’s multi-sports program offers the opportunity for kids and teenagers to learn and develop a range of new sports skills and explore new adventures in an inclusive and social environment. 

There will be two separate sessions for primary and high school students, as well as a multi-sport day at Lake Macquarie.

Who is this program for?
  • Participants:
    • Aged 7-12 years (half day sessions) and 13-18 years (full day session)

    • Who can participate independently

    • Comfortable within a group environment

    • Looking to have fun, meet like-minded friends and build their fitness through sport

What’s included?

Primary school program

  • Ball sports such as netball, football, tennis, basketball
  • Physical challenges, such as Ninja Warrior course
  • Bike, race runner, scooter and skateboard riding 

High school program

  • 25 Sep – 5-20km Endurance Challenge: Run, hike, bike and kayak through the Northern Beaches
  • 26 Sep – Day at Lake Macquarie including multi-sport and kayaking activities
  • 27 Sep – Treetops Adventure – Central Coast
  • 28 Sep – Mini Golf and Driving Range at the Pittwater Golf Centre followed by multi-sports at Narrabeen
  • 29 Sep – Bushwalking and/or mountain biking through Lane Cove National Park
  • 4 Oct – Kayaking Adventure Day

Frequently asked questions

Infants 12 months or younger are eligible if they have the following:

  • Clinical history indicating risk for cerebral palsy


Risk factors include (but not limited to) prematurity, birth defects, genetic conditions, intrauterine growth restriction, hypoxia-ischaemia, seizures, neonatal stroke, infection

  • Abnormal neuroimaging-MRI or Cranial Ultrasound (CUS) indicative of possible motor impairment
  • Motor dysfunction

 

This might include abnormal General Movements, very low scores on standardised assessment (e.g. below 10th percentile on AIMS), poor head control after 3 months, hand asymmetry after 4 months, not able to take weight through feet after 5 months, not sitting at 9 months.

Priority will be given to infants who have not previously seen a neurologist.
