Duke of Edinburgh Award

Duke of Edinburgh Award

Make a difference to the world, while you learn new skills and try new experiences. The Duke of Edinburgh Award is for young people aged 14-25 years.

Explore your potential and achieve success by joining this internationally recognised program. A Duke of Edinburgh Award will show the world that you can take on a challenge and see it through.

How does it work?

Each award level is done over a 6 month period and includes 4 sections – Skill, Physical recreation, Volunteer and Adventurous journey or Expedition. You base your award around your passions and your ambitions.

What will I get out of it?

It’s flexible so you can do it at times that suit you, it’s progressive so you can see personal growth and development and most of all, it’s FUN because you are doing things that you want to do.

There is a $100 administration cost to participate in the Duke of Edinburgh Award payable to NSW Office of Communities, Sport and Recreation. Other costs that are directly related to activities are your responsibility (or your parent). These vary depending on your needs, but you may be able to use your NDIS package for any personal supports needed during the activities.

Next steps
