“I’ve been an OT at CPA for over three years, and my goal is to provide quality of life, comfort and access to environments that my clients couldn’t experience before.”
Since joining CPA’s multidisciplinary team, Sophie has found immense value in working alongside an experienced and supportive team. “As a new graduate it was really quite beneficial to have such an experienced team that was so willing to support you and help you.”
Research and innovation are at the heart of everything CPA does, driving better outcomes for clients and equipping therapists with the tools they need to succeed. “The research and innovation at CPA provide me with the tools and information I need to deliver the best services possible. It gives me the confidence to know I’m providing the best therapy and support for my clients.”
Through ongoing education, access to CPA’s world-leading research, innovation and supervision, Sophie’s career has been supported “every step of the way,” helping shape her into the Occupational Therapist she is today.
For Sophie, the most meaningful moments are often the simplest. One stands out in particular: delivering a life-changing piece of equipment to a young client. “I delivered a little girl her wheelchair and she said it was the best day of her life. It was such a small thing but such a big thing for her and it was so exciting.”
Moments like these are made all the more special when living and working in a regional community such as Nowra. Sophie is passionate about ensuring regional communities continue to have access to high-quality care. “I love my job because I get to give back to the regional community that I work in.”
For those considering a career in Occupational Therapy, Sophie has one clear piece of advice: “If you’re on a journey to become an OT, join CPA. They have the best training, research, innovation and team to support you.”
