Cerebral Palsy Alliance participants at the 2023 Mardi Gras

Mardi Gras 2024 volunteers needed

Get ready to grab your (eco-friendly) glitter and get glammed up in 2024!

This is the official call out to everyone in the Cerebral Palsy Alliance community who would like to represent CPA and our LGBTQIA+ community in the 2024 Mardi Gras celebrations.

CPA will be taking part in two Mardi Gras events: Fair Day on Sunday 18 February and the Parade on Saturday 2 March 2024 to celebrate our diversity and promote our inclusive organisation. There are many ways you can get involved.

Volunteer for Mardi Gras events in 2024 – Register your interest.

*Expressions of interest must be received before 5pm on Sunday 4 February 2024.

Fair Day volunteers

On Fair Day, over 70,000 people head to Victoria Park to celebrate all things LGBTQIA+ with 200 food, retail and community stalls. CPA will have a stall and we need rostered volunteers from approx. 8am – 6pm.

Fair Day is a great deal of fun – a chance to engage with all sorts of people and show off who we are and what we do! There are six stages and six bars for the annual global gathering to kick-off the 2024 Festival. Please note – due to the uneven terrain of some parts of Victoria Park, this area may not be accessible to all patrons.

Parade volunteers

For the Parade, CPA is partnering with Northcott and Afford to represent the LGBTQIA+ disability community. We have limited places, primarily for CPA clients and their support workers, to volunteer in the Parade (CPA has 12 spots in total).

PLEASE NOTE This is an EOI to go into the draw for a place, by filling in the form it is not guaranteed you get a spot.
