Join the Pride: march with People with Disability Australia in the 2026 Mardi Gras Parade

Cerebral Palsy Alliance is excited to share a glittery opportunity for clients and community members to be part of one of Australia’s most iconic celebrations of inclusion and diversity - the 2026 Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade.

People with Disability Australia (PWDA) is inviting people to express their interest in joining them in the 2026 Sydney Mardi Gras parade on Saturday 28 February 2026 in Oxford Street, Darlinghurst, Sydney.

PWDA is a proud community partner of the Mardi Gras parade, celebrating LGBTQIA+ people with disability and amplifying their voices on one of the biggest stages of the year. Spots are limited and priority will be given to PWDA members and LGBTQIA+ community members, including people with disability who live in NSW and the ACT.

More ways to be involved

We know that taking part in Mardi Gras looks different for everyone, and there are many ways to participate beyond marching in the parade.

In March, CPA’s Accommodation & Respite (A&R) team will be hosting a Mardi Gras Watch Party, creating a fun, inclusive space for people to come together, celebrate and enjoy the parade. Details will be shared closer to the date.

We’ve also been sharing information across CPA about other ways people can get involved, including:

  • watching the Mardi Gras Parade along the route or on TV
  • attending Mardi Gras and Pride events across Sydney
  • supporting or cheering on friends, family and community members in the parade
  • participating in other floats or community-led Pride activities

How to register interest

If you’re interested in marching with PWDA or want more information about accessibility and support, visit the PWDA website to register your interest:
