Experiences of Australian adults living in NDIS supported accommodation during the COVID-19 pandemic

Researchers from Flinders University want to know about the lived experiences of Australian adults with disabilities during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The pandemic has had serious consequences for people with disabilities living in supported accommodation around the world. This study will assess how COVID has impacted Australian adults with disabilities who live in NDIS supported accommodation.

Through an anonymous online survey, researchers want to gather information about respondents and their experiences over three periods:

  1. Before public health measures were introduced to address COVID-19
  2. During the time public health measures were most restrictive in the Australian context
  3. Following the time when most public health measures were scaled back

Participants should be:

  1. Living in Australia currently and for at least six months since January 2020
  2. Self-identify as having lived independently in accommodation supported by the NDIS (e.g., living with Supported Independent Living assistance)
  3. Able to interact fluently using English
  4. Able to read sentence-level text independently or with assistance
  5. Able to input sentence-level responses (e.g., type or use voice to text function) independently or with assistance.
