Lived experience
Yvette, whose son has cerebral palsy, began the workshop sharing her powerful story with the audience, expressing her hopes for the network and its potential to positively impact individuals living with CP and their families.
Interactive Adaptive Platform Trial using LEGO!
Our team presented a phase 2 adaptive platform design activity using LEGO – a nod to our funders and collaborators, the Elsass Foundation in Denmark. Concepts such as “drop the loser”, response adaptive randomisation, adaptive group sequential designs, adaptations to remove arms and the benefits of adaptive platform trials were explored through the lively, practical (and sometimes ridiculous) trial example to build a LEGO tower. The favourite intervention was swapping out the LEGO bricks for marshmallows!
Pilot Adaptive Trial
Maria provided a comprehensive overview of adaptive trial design and outlined the steps we are taking to develop our Pilot Adaptive Trial. This approach is far more complex than a traditional randomized controlled trial (RCT), and we are currently working with statistical experts, people with lived experience and experts to refine our study question. Our goal for the pilot trial is to make a meaningful impact by addressing a research question that benefits individuals with cerebral palsy and their families. Additionally, it will provide a valuable opportunity to test and refine our shared infrastructure as we prepare for full-scale implementation.
Launch of the CP Global Clinical Trials Network Website
We were excited to launch our new website with the audience. During our workshop, Jenna took some time to walk the audience through the website, sharing the contents and user-friendly features. Please take a look around our our website and contact us to find out more information!
She thanked both the Elsass Foundation and the CPA for the generous funding and support to make the CP Global Clinical Trials Network possible. In addition, she shared our recent publications – our first peer-reviewed publication for the network and published correspondence about co-designing a global trials network for cerebral palsy in The Lancet Regional Health – Europe.
