The holiday season is upon us, and at Cerebral Palsy Alliance that means an incredible array of wonderful Christmas parties!
Across NSW and the ACT, clients, families and the wider community have been coming together to celebrate. Our Christmas parties are a huge shared effort using the combined expertise and skills of our therapy, Lifestyles, corporate engagement and volunteer teams, who have pulled out all the stops to ensure an extra special festive season.
Clients and families from across Sydney have had a blast at six Christmas parties, with more than 500 people taking part. From Allambie in the northern beaches to Prairiewood in the west, clients enjoyed a host of great activities and community fun, including free gifts, barbecues, face painting and even petting zoos!
It’s not all about parties and presents either – we have also been supporting vulnerable clients with complex disabilities, for whom crowded and inaccessible shopping centres can be challenging at Christmas.
To overcome this and provide a welcoming and safe environment, CPA’s Hunter and Central Coast teams have created a full Christmas experience over four weekends, with COVID-safe Santa photos. The mother of an Erina client reflected on the day:

Clearly so much work and planning has gone on behind the scenes and obviously people gave up their own time to help run these days, we are truly grateful.”
With the generous support of corporate partners and supporters, we have also distributed:
After a difficult few years of lockdowns and isolation, our CPA community have immensely enjoyed coming together. In total, more than 1,300 clients and their families have taken part in the festivities.
To our whole CP community, have a safe and happy holiday season!
