A beautiful day for kayaking to kick off the Autumn school holiday program. The sun was shining and the conditions perfect on Narrabeen Lake to go for a paddling adventure. Athletes jumped in either a single kayak to test their capabilities or joined a coach or a friend in a double kayak to build their confidence on the water. As we made our way around the lake everyone learnt more about water safety, the local ecosystem (we saw plenty of birds, and even flying fish!), various paddle techniques, including how to go forwards, backwards, and turn, and stay afloat safely! With many tempted to intentionally capsize their kayaks to go for a swim due to the lovely warm weather, we headed over to North Narrabeen Beach pool to finish the afternoon with lunch and a swim in the ocean.
A fan favorite returned for the April school holidays as athletes attended Bounce Cromer for a day filled with action, adventure and fun! The day featured a range of activities, including trampolining, high ropes, dodgeball and more. One of the main highlights of the day was when athletes shook off their nerves and built up the courage to complete the high ropes and the newly improved zipline. Athletes confronted the diverse challenges posed by the high ropes, embracing each obstacle with determination and enthusiasm. After navigating the high ropes course, the exhilarating zip line ride provided a thrilling conclusion, making every challenging moment worthwhile.
Despite the unpredictable conditions throughout the day, athletes made the most of the good weather for their bike riding and race runner adventures at John Fisher Park in Curl Curl. Athletes cycled along various paths, trails, and grass ovals to complete the ultimate bike riding course that the park had to offer. The terrain on the day proved challenging due to the local weather. However, athletes demonstrated their impressive bike riding skills to conquer these encounters and complete the track in an all-star fashion. The day then finished off with more bike riding games at Allambie head office, where athletes completed a thrilling bike riding scavenger hunt.
With another action filled day ahead, it was only the weather that could possibly interfere with more exciting fun and adventure. Athletes began their long and treacherous bush walk at the East Esplanade Park. During their walk to Shelly Beach, the sun was shining bright with a calm gentle breeze flowing through, making it seem almost impossible that something could go wrong. However, once the climb up to North Head began, the sky shifted to a not so pleasant grey, and it was clear that trouble was not too far off. Nevertheless, athletes continued their bush walk as far as they could until the weather proved too difficult. Despite this outcome, the fun continued back at the Allambie head office, where athletes competed in various team-building activities.
The day started with carpooling, karaoke and a lovely drive to Treetops Adventure Park Central Coast. The whole crew listened intently to the safety briefing from the wonderful guides at the park then set off on their first treetops high ropes course. These high ropes runs tested balance, problem solving skills and the determination of our athletes. Everyone faced their fears of heights, pushed through barriers and overcame all the obstacles on the course to make it to the final zipline – awesome work athletes! Lunch to refuel then back out to complete treetops adventures, before heading over to the much-loved Networld! Hanging out among the trees was a blast for everyone.
A day for sport lovers and enthusiasts. The sun was shining, the excitement was high, and Lionel Watts Reserve was the place to be for a full day of sporting fun and friendly competition. The action kicked off with a thrilling game of soccer, where athletes showcased their skills on the amazing artificial pitch. The energy was infectious, and the competition fierce, showcasing the amazing talent on offer. Next, we switched gears and moved to cricket, where athletes teamed up for an epic showdown. There were some fantastic shots played, and great bowling actions – truly a cricket lover’s paradise. Following that, we took to the footy field for a series of fun drills and a couple of friendly games. Athletes showed off their footwork and teamwork, making for some exciting moments. The day then wrapped up with a final basketball showdown. The courts turned into the ultimate playground for team-building fun, capped off with a heart-pounding game full of buzzer-beaters that kept everyone on edge right up to the final shot!
