From the very beginning, Maysaa felt supported. As a first-year Occupational Therapy student, she shared her ambitions during onboarding and was met with a simple but powerful question: “How can we support you?” That encouragement shaped her experience at CPA and reinforced that this was more than just a job; it was a place where her passion, studies and purpose could come together.
For Maysaa, being a DSP is about creating opportunities. Every client she supports has their own unique goals, dreams and aspirations. Whether it’s building independence, learning new skills, or reaching milestones once thought impossible, helping them achieve these moments of progress is deeply rewarding. “This is me,” Maysaa says. “This is what I was meant to do.”
What makes the experience even more meaningful is the team around her. United by a shared commitment to clients, Maysaa describes a workplace where everyone brings their own insights, experiences and knowledge to the table. That collaboration and collective care create an environment where both staff and clients can thrive.
Maysaa is also inspired by CPA’s leadership in assistive technology. She has seen firsthand how technology can unlock possibilities and empower clients to achieve things they never imagined. “The opportunities are endless,” she says. “With Cerebral Palsy Alliance being at the forefront of assistive technology, I’ll never want to leave.”
Over the years, Maysaa has witnessed the impact that compassionate, consistent support can have. Sometimes change can happen in a day, sometimes over weeks or years. Every step forward matters and seeing those transformations reminds her why she chose this path in the first place.
“You make a big difference in your client’s lives,” she reflects. “We notice the changes… imagine how they feel.”
For anyone considering a career in disability support, Maysaa has a simple message: “Whatever your goals, there’s a great career waiting for you at Cerebral Palsy Alliance.” One filled with purpose, growth and the chance to change lives every single day.
