Like most of us, Oli was prepared for near enough to be good enough. Sure, his home wasn’t ticking all the boxes, but whose does?  

Plus, wouldn’t switching to another SIL provider involve lots of complex paperwork and long waiting times and just be a complete hassle?

Taking the first step together, Oli and his family spoke with our friendly Accommodation Vacancy Coordinators and quickly discovered that CPA SIL delivered on its promises.  

Lodging his application, Oli was reassured by knowing that his application was being carefully considered, with the CPA team focusing on identifying an inspiring, compatible location where Oli’s individual health needs and behavioural supports would be expertly supported within the home. 

On progress of his application, Oli and his Person Responsible next visited the home and met the House Manager to discuss preferences, routines, and expectations. 

This next progressed to a ‘Meet and Greet’ visit with residents and their families that gave Oli the chance to experience the home environment and to see if it felt right.  

On checking in with Oli post his visit to hear his thoughts and answer any questions he may now have, the CPA team were delighted to learn that Oli shared that the suggested CPA home felt like the perfect match! 

Moving into his new home, Oli quickly found himself embraced by his new house siblings and revelling in a highly sociable environment, where his jokes – and the coffee – are free-flowing. 

Oli’s very active schedule now includes painting classes, wheelchair rugby (Oli’s team won the Grand Final), wheelchair racing, as well as two days per week working at Packforce, CPA’s supported employment workplace.
