Franklin Women Carer’s Scholarship recipient Ingrid Honan

Celebrating Dr Ingrid Honan – Franklin Women Carer’s Scholarship Recipient

We’re thrilled to share that Dr Ingrid Honan, one of our incredible researchers at the Cerebral Palsy Alliance Research Institute, has been awarded a Franklin Women Carer’s Scholarship.

Ingrid is a Registered Psychologist with a background in clinical neuropsychology, and she plays a key role in shaping research into mental health, cognition, pain, and well-being for people with cerebral palsy—particularly young adults. She also co-chairs the Australian and New Zealand Cerebral Palsy Strategy, helping guide national priorities for CP care and research.

The scholarship was awarded to support Ingrid to present the results of her research at the International Alliance of Academies of Childhood Disability (IAACD), European Academy of Childhood Onset Disability (EACD) conference in Heidelberg, Germany in June 2025.

The Franklin Women Carer’s Scholarship is all about supporting women in health and medical research who are juggling unpaid caring responsibilities alongside their careers. The scholarship helps remove some of the practical barriers that can make it tough to take part in career-defining opportunities.

Ingrid’s work is all about building networks, prioritising lived experience, and improving outcomes across the lifespan—and we couldn’t be prouder to see her recognised in this way.

A big congratulations to Ingrid and to all the amazing recipients across the sector!
