The Term 4 Sydney Singles Boccia competition was certainly an exciting one. Marc and Greg fought it out, with Marc defeating Greg in the two ends play off to claim 3rd place. This saw him advance to the 2nd vs. 3rd playoff against Ange. Ange made a strong push, winning the first three ends and closing in on Marc, who led by just one point going into the fourth end. However, Marc won the final end by two points, earning a spot in the final against his wife, Sharon. Sharon had earlier made an incredible comeback, overcoming a nine-point deficit to beat Greg 11-9. In the final, Sharon continued her dominance, securing a 7-2 victory and winning all eight ends that morning. Greg won the 3rd place final, defeating Ange 16-12. A great few games had by all!
In the Term 4 Boccia Super League competition, Aaryan and Matty had another two ends to play off to determine the final standing. Aaryan did enough to close out the win, advancing to the 2nd vs. 3rd playoff against Ange. This turned out to be the game of the day! Aaryan started strong, scoring 4 points in the first end, but Ange fought back, narrowing the gap. Going into the final end with a 5-2 lead, Aaryan watched as Ange made a dramatic comeback to tie the game 5-5, forcing a tiebreaker. Aaryan edged out Ange by millimetres on the final ball to win. In the other semi-final, Sharon defeated Matty 4-2, setting up a final against Aaryan. Despite trailing after the first end, Aaryan delivered a commanding performance, winning 12-2. In the 3rd place match, Matty narrowly defeated Ange in another tiebreaker. What a thrilling end to the comp!
