Celebrating International Day of People with Disability

December 3 marks the International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD)—a day dedicated to celebrating the achievements, diversity, and contributions of people with disabilities worldwide.

The theme for 2024, “Amplifying the Leadership of Persons with Disabilities for an Inclusive and Sustainable Future,” calls on us to celebrate the leadership of individuals with disabilities while building a society that values equity and inclusion for all.

This year, we invite you to get involved in marking IDPWD through a series of engaging events and activities:

  1. Tune in to Hannah Diviney at The Press Club

We are thrilled to announce that Hannah Diviney—actor, writer, disability advocate, and co-founder of CPA’s fundraising event Krazy Kosci Klimb, will be speaking at The Press Club on Thursday 4 December, the day after IDPwD. The discussion at this landmark event will cover advocacy, representation, and equity for people with disabilities. CPA representatives will be there at the event so we’ll keep you informed.

  1. Watch Out of My Mind on Disney+

Streaming now on Disney+, Out of My Mind tells the inspiring story of Melody, a young girl with cerebral palsy, as she navigates life, school, and friendships.
