Dylan Schwarz, Christopher Allerdice and Aaryan Shah, along with Queensland teammates Lachlan Kavanagh and Jean-Paul La-Fontaine, all donned the green and gold to represent their country in the first of many World Challengers, as we head towards LA in 2028 and get even closer to Brisbane 2032. Â
34 hours of travel and 3 countries later, and the team arrived in Sardinia, eager for sleep, recovery and Boccia. After 2 days of much needed rest and recovery, the team switched into competition mode. Over the next few days, the team trained and checked out the competition, working on their game plans and settling into the competitive environment. With head coach PK and Bruna at the helm, the ship was looking strong, and confidence was high.  Â
During competition, the team saw some amazing gameplay and talent from all countries, which really pushed the Australian team to play their best Boccia. Jean-Paul La Fontaine was the only representative for Australia in the semi-finals, with Christopher Allerdice representing in the preliminary rounds. It was a hard-fought battle, with some serious competition. Wearing the green and gold is always a big opportunity for anyone, and the team should feel an amazing sense of pride in their abilities and efforts, as their sights are now set on Santiago, Chile, in April 2025. Â
