NAIDOC week 2026

Celebrating 50 Years of Deadly this NAIDOC Week

This NAIDOC Week, Cerebral Palsy Alliance is proud to join communities across Australia in celebrating 50 Years of Deadly, marking 50 years of National NAIDOC Week.

NAIDOC Week is an opportunity to celebrate the histories, cultures and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, while taking time to learn, build understanding and strengthen connections.

Across CPA, our teams, clients and families are recognising the week through activities that encourage cultural learning, reflection and community connection.

At our new Hunter site, clients are coming together for a morning tea featuring creative activities and opportunities to connect, while Allambie is hosting an afternoon of shared learning and conversation following a NAIDOC Week cultural education session.

Across our other sites, teams are celebrating through community gatherings, morning teas, nature-based activities and guided walks that encourage connection with Country. Many Lifestyle and Accommodation & Respite teams are also taking part in activities that help clients explore Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures in engaging and accessible ways.

Within CPA’s Research Institute, NAIDOC Week is being recognised through cultural education, an extended Acknowledgement of Country, and native-inspired refreshments from First Nations business Cooee Native Superfoods.

These celebrations reflect CPA’s ongoing commitment to inclusion, respect and creating communities where everyone belongs. While NAIDOC Week is an important time to celebrate, it also encourages all Australians to continue learning from and listening to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples throughout the year.

We’re proud to celebrate 50 Years of Deadly alongside the people, families and communities we support.
