Accessible Basketball Program

All abilities basketball for kids and adults with disabilities

Commencing Term 4 (13 October 2025)

Our Accessible Basketball Program is a fun, social way for kids and adults to improve their skills, stay active and make new friends. Whether you're brand new to the sport or want to take your game to the next level, this inclusive basketball program is designed for all abilities.

Run over 10 weeks, sessions are delivered in small groups or one-on-one with disability sports professionals experienced in adaptive basketball.

One-on-one sessions are available for adults and children at various times Monday – Friday. Call 1300 888 378 to make an enquiry.

What does it involve?

Fun drills to build basketball skills and confidence
Mini games and team challenges
Group activities to practise passing, dribbling, shooting and teamwork
An initial assessment with an Exercise Physiologist or Physiotherapist to help set your goals, identify any required adaptations, and ensure you can participate fully and enjoy the program.

What are the outcomes?

Improved basketball skills and tactical understanding of the game
Enhanced agility, with improved throwing, dribbling and catching skills
Increased confidence and interpersonal skills
Improved health, fitness, coordination, and psychological wellbeing
Strengthened social and community participation

Who is the program for?

Children (7-17 years) and adults (18 – 44 years) of all abilities who want to learn how to play basketball and/or improve their skills.

Group Program

People with cerebral palsy (GMFCS I – III) or similar disabilities who can follow instructions and engage in a dynamic group setting for 90 minutes (independently or with support).

Individual Program

People with cerebral palsy (GMFCS I – IV) or similar disabilities who can follow instructions and participate in activities for 60 minutes (independently or with support).
