As always, and now more than ever, our clients’ wellbeing and safety are at the very centre of our practice.

Cerebral Palsy Alliance is keeping in step with all current NSW Health recommendations, so that we can provide the safest possible environment for our clients, staff and volunteers.

All new volunteers starting at CPA must already have received at least 2 doses of Covid-19 vaccine, plus must receive their 3rd booster dose within 6 months of their second dose, and provide these vaccination details to the Volunteers Team.

We require volunteers with swimming skills or formal qualifications (learn to swim or coaching) to assist our head swim coach

The power chair intensive is an opportunity for clients to increase/develop their skills in their power chair as well as assess and trial equipment that will best meet their mobility needs.

We're seeking fun loving, sports enthusiasts to help our Therapy team run the Gross Motor Skills program for kids with a disability.

Assist with our Come & Try Frame Running (race running) program. A day for clients to come and try the exciting sport of Frame Running at Prairiewood.

    Are you someone with administration experience is task and process orientated and has proficiency in creating and using excel? 

    This role would be to support the Equipment Services with creating and managing a stock take and inventory management tool.

    Are you a Speech pathology or Allied Health student? Are you interested in supporting young children to develop their language skills? 

    PROGRAM DATES: 4 day program I 4th July, 6th July, 11th July, 13th July

    TIME:  10 - 12pm each day

    LOCATION:  Cerebral Palsy Alliance Kingswood Centre, Western Sydney University,Second Avenue, Kingswood, New South Wales 2747

    VOLUNTEER ROLE

    • You will work with children under the age of 2 yrs, and their parent / carers, to support them and their parents with early language development. Families will be learning play-based early language stimulation and interaction strategies.
    • You will be working in a group setting with 4-8 children to deliver the program 
    • Supporting child and family engagement and practice of strategies
    • You will support the set up and pack down of the program each session

    BENEFITS OF THE ROLE

    • This would be an amazing opportunity for speech pathology students to gain experience supporting children under the age of two in the disability sector
    • Role is a unique opportunity to learn from experienced paediatric speech pathologists
    • Volunteers will learn how to implement language development strategies
    • Volunteers will be guided on how to communicate with both children and their carers during the program
    • All volunteers will receive a certificate of attendance.

    NOTE - Allied Health Students

    If you’re an allied health student still studying, a volunteer role like this will support you to gain skills and experience that will be invaluable when you’re ready to take on your first professional role.

    Assist with our AAC Day Out program helping clients extend communication skills through functional use of their alternative and augmentative communication systems.

    Our Sports team require volunteers to support their school holiday multi-sports program for High School aged children for one week during the July school holidays.
