Founder, Remarkable – Accelerating Disability Tech

I enjoy working amongst a team of thought leaders who are constantly pushing the boundaries and thinking big.

I never imagined that my experience as a volunteer with young people in Queensland would kick-start a new adventure in the disability sector – particularly after a career in landscape architecture.

My journey at Cerebral Palsy Alliance (CPA) began on a short-term contract 13 years ago when a friend approached me to set up a teenage mentoring program. My love of working directly with clients made it easy to stay at the end of my contract.

Before taking up my current role, I had the pleasure of managing our Youth, Volunteer and Corporate Engagement programs, all of which I really enjoyed.

When I heard about the opportunity with Remarkable – CPA’s exciting technology accelerator project – I knew it was a perfect fit for me. I’ve always loved technology. Knowing I’m involved in breaking new ground and witnessing how technology is actually improving the lives of people with a disability is so incredibly rewarding.

I enjoy working amongst a team of thought leaders who are constantly pushing the boundaries and thinking big. It’s a bit cliché, but I think everyone should find an intersection between things they are passionate about and jobs that need doing! At CPA, I’m living my passion!

So…where to from here?

I’m so excited about continuing to explore how technology can play in the lives of people living with a disability – there still so much to learn. I’m exactly where I want to be!
