NARRABEEN – Allambie Seals Swim Squad

We require volunteers with swimming skills or formal qualifications (learn to swim or coaching) to assist our head swim coach

We require volunteers with swimming skills or formal qualifications – learn to swim or coaching. This group of clients are very hard working and fun to be with. Highly motivated with a strong group identity. Any volunteer would not be expected to turn up every week, it’s Saturday morning after all, however the more reliable the better.

Tasks:
Follow the session plan put together by the Head Swim Coach. Support swimmers to follow the set of drills, observing, motivating, correcting and providing feedback. Joining the warm up, and leading this if confident to do so. Helping with the timing of the races at the end of the session.

Age Range: aged 10 to 30
No of Clients: 16
Aim of the Program: Improve swim strokes, fitness, racing skills, and having fun with friends and peers

PROGRAM DATES:  Saturday’s

TIME: 9.00am – 10.30am

LOCATION:  Sydney Academy of Sport and Recreation, Wakehurst Parkway, Narrabeen

VOLUNTEER ROLE

  • Work with our clients aged 10-30 years to deliver CPA’s Allambie Seals Swim Squad program
  • Provide support in the water for participants in a group setting
  • Receive support from the head swim coach
  • Support our head swim coach to implement activities focusing on improving strength, balance, water confidence + safety skills.

  • NDIS Worker Check
  • NDIS online training module
  • Comply with CPA’s COVID-19 safe working guidelines.

NOTE – Allied Health Students

If you’re an allied health student still studying, a volunteer role like this will support you to gain skills and experience that will be invaluable when you’re ready to take on your first professional role.

 

This position is subject to a compulsory Working with Children Check, NDIS Worker Check, and COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate (+ 1 booster)
