Looking to gain pediatric skills and volunteer alongside amazing therapists? Volunteering is for you!

Intensive therapy is a functional, activities-based intensive intervention approach designed specifically for children with disabilities.

The program provides 1:1 intensive practice with a therapist and supported by volunteers, who will adapt and change tasks specifically to your child, to enable long-lasting individual improvements. This constant variable nature of practice enables your child’s skills to be achieved not only in a therapy setting, but also at home, school, or in the community.

What’s involved?

  • This program runs for 4 consecutive days during the September school holidays, with each child having an individually assigned therapist.
  • 12 hours of 1:1 therapy within a group environment.
  • The program is designed to further the child’s own goals and develop their skills in preparation for starting school, including fine motor skills, self-care skills, gross motor skills, social and communication goals, and emotional self-regulation.

Who is this program for?

  • Children school aged
  • Will be attending mainstream schooling placement
  • Are able to transition between several activities within a morning
  • Are able to participate in group-based activities (with some support) with peers
