Boccia is a Paralympic sport similar to lawn bowls and suitable for people who use wheelchairs.
Our Sports team are now seeking volunteers to support their weekday morning Boccia programs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
As a volunteer, you will play an important role in supporting participants to practice and develop their skills; prepare for competitions; not to mention have loads of fun!
PROGRAM DETAILS

- LOCATION:Â Cerebral Palsy Alliance – 187 Allambie Road, Allambie Heights
VOLUNTEER ROLE – Sports Program Assistant
- Support CPA’s Sports team to deliver a fun and engaging sports program for adults aged 30-60+ years
- Learn how to support adults with a range of disabilities to develop and practice their Boccia game play skills
- Support and follow instructions from individual players as ramp assistants when required
- Use your interest in sport to help improve the problem-solving skills, confidence and social participation for players

ROLE REQUIREMENTS
- Enthusiastic and fun attitude
- Minimum 6-month commitment preferred
- Willingness to undertake NDIS Workers Check and Workin with Children Check
- Complete a NDIS online training module prior to your start date
- Attend a Volunteer Induction session prior to your start date
- Comply with CPA’s COVID-19 safe working guidelines
Allied Health Students
If you’re studying a sports, recreation or allied health course, a volunteer role like this will support you to gain skills and experience that will be invaluable when you’re ready to take on your first professional role.
