Home and Living Support – NDIS survey

Home and Living Support - NDIS survey
Posted on Wed 22 Jun 2022

We want to understand what the NDIS can do better to support participants to move towards living in more individualised ways so they have more choice and control over how and where they live.

The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) and Scope Australia are conducting a research project with NDIS participants with high in-home support needs who have lived experience of autism, intellectual disability, Down syndrome, psychosocial disability and/or cerebral palsy, and their family, carers and other supporters.

We want to explore how to make individualised living a reality. We want to learn how participants use skill building supports to live how and where they want.
This includes understanding:

  • How the NDIS can better support participants to access skill building support to work towards their home and living goals
  • What types of supports, such as support with cooking and cleaning, enable participants to live how and where they want to
  • What participants, their families and other supporters consider when choosing home and living options that suit them
  • The challenges that participants have accessing skill building supports (including unpaid and paid).

We want to hear from you if you:

  • Have daily living or personal care support needs such as cleaning or showering;
  • Are on the autism spectrum or have intellectual disability, Down syndrome, psychosocial disability or cerebral palsy; and
  • Have a home and living goal in your NDIS plan; or
  • Support an NDIS participant with the above.

You must be 18 years or older to fill in the survey.

If you are an NDIS participant, please complete the NDIS participant survey.

There is an easy English version of the survey here

If you are a supporter of an NDIS participant (family member or other carer/supporter of a participant, or people employed to work with NDIS participants) complete the home and living capacity building supporter survey.
