Learn life skills and become independent

Learning how to look after yourself and solve life’s little problems is part of growing up but are you ready to be independent? 

Living Independently workshop is designed for young adults who are wanting to start the journey to understand what it takes to manage day to day personal tasks to live independently and fully participate in life and the community, regardless of ability

This will be a lively, interactive and fun program whilst bonding with peers through fun and engaging life skills activities, practising skills in team work, communication, decision making and organisation and planning. 

 

What's involved?

  • Budgeting
  • Finding a social skills activity that matters to you
  • Knowing how to communicate with others
  • Preparing and cooking meals
  • Managing your time
  • Organising a night out with the group
  • Looking after yourself

 

Who is this for?

  • Young adults aged 18-30 years
  • Interested in learning life skills and independence

 

What are the outcomes?

  • Develop skills in daily living skills
  • Develop skills in financial literacy
  • Develop skills in problem solving
  • Demonstrate skills in decision making 
  • Develop skills in starting and maintaining a conversation
