This unique therapy approach will build your confidence, improve your mobility and help you to fight the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease (PD).
PD Warrior revolutionises not only the therapy that is delivered to people with mild symptoms of Parkinson’s disease, but also when it is delivered, how it is delivered and why it is delivered.
The vision of PD Warrior is to completely change the neurological landscape and the way that Parkinson’s disease can be managed. PD Warrior offers you hope that there is life after diagnosis and the opportunity that you can get back into life!
What's involved?
- Create new routines, habits and a life-long commitment to an exercise clients enjoy and makes a difference to their daily life
- Initial consultation with exercise physiologist/ physiotherapist to determine individual goals and review health status
- Group based circuit class
- Exercises which focus on 7 core movement principles
- Dynamic and engaging classes with music and lots of energy
What are the outcomes?
- Based on the principles of neuroplascity participation in this class will lead to the regeneration of neuropathways associated with gross motor movement
- Improved confidence in completing activities of daily living
- Delay of the progression of PD
- Reduction in the severity of symptoms associated with your PD
Who is this for?
- Individuals who have been recently diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease (PD)
- Individuals who are currently engaging in PD Warrior external to CPA or have experience in participating in the classes
