What does it involve?

Afternoon Club is a weekly program designed for young people with cerebral palsy and similar physical disabilities, aged 13 to 17 years, offering a variety of activities that promote personal growth, social interaction and creativity. Each session is carefully planned to ensure participants gain valuable experiences and skills in a fun and inclusive environment.  The program involves a mix of onsite activities, tailored to the needs and interests of the participants. Activities are designed to build relationships, promote decision-making, and encourage independence. Each session is led by highly trained youth-focused disability support practitioners.

  • Weekly themes: Each week focuses on a different theme, such as, cooking, creative arts, music, and team challenges.

  • Hands-on activities: Engage in practical tasks like cooking, scavenger hunts and creative projects. Work as part of a team and independently to develop skills.

  • Skill-building: Develop essential life skills, such as effective teamwork, clear communication, personal health and well-being and goal setting.

  • Flexible programming: Activities are adjusted based on the needs and preferences of the group, ensuring everyone has equal say and can participate and benefit.
