CPA’s School Leaver Employment Supports (SLES) offering includes a wide choice of options to help young people with disabilities prepare their own unique pathway to employment. If you're about to finish school or have just left or want to find a job? That's where SLES can help.

Our SLES employment supports includes skills development in areas such as time management, travelling, money handling, and taking instructions and understanding expectations. We can also assist you with finding work experience. 

CPA's SLES delivers vocational skills development and contributes to young people achieving their desired employment outcome. SLES is an NDIS supports - it’s not a set program, but you can get funding for up to two years.

 

CPA's School Employment Leavers Support (SLES) offering

CPA School Leavers Employment Support (SLES) offering has been developed to provide an individualised service at the individual level and activities are adapted to the individual’s needs. There’s a huge range of skills you can learn with CPA to get you ‘job ready’. These include:

  • Resume writing and cover letters
  • Searching and applying for a job
  • Communicating at work
  • Money handling and budgeting
  • Travel training and catching public transport
  • Understanding what your employer needs from you
  • Starting a new job
  • Health and safety
  • Optional group workshops and capacity building getaways

 

CPA's SLES offering provides the opportunity for every individual with access to:

  • Functional Assessments completed by an Occupational Therapist
  • Behaviour Support Plans to ensure all areas of support are covered going into employment and employment related activities
  • A choice of  group activities for socialisation and communication skill building

 

CPA's expert Youth Coaches

People learn in different ways. That’s why our SLES offering supports you with the expert knowledge and experience from a CPA Youth Coach. We offer an innovative approach to employment skills development and include both individual and small group activities. You will always be able to learn at your own pace with as much or as little support as you need.

CPA's one to one youth coaching through SLES is proven to enable greater and more meaningful involvement in the workforce and community.”

 

It's backed by research1 that shows 100% of young people living with a disability are more likely to follow a path that leads to greater participation in the community and the workforce when given access to one on one coaching with an expert CPA Youth Coach.

 

Who can enrol in CPA's SLES offering?

  • School leavers and young adults (aged 17-22 years)
  • Young people living with physical and/or neurological conditions
  • Young people looking for a meaningful pathway after school
  • Have SLES funding approval, NDIS Support Category Capacity Building – Finding and Keeping a Job
