Small equipment grant
The Research Foundation of Cerebral Palsy Alliance is committed to fund the world’s best and brightest researchers to find ways to improve current interventions and ultimately find a prevention and cure for cerebral palsy.
We are working to achieve our vision by funding research with the best potential for breakthroughs, and collaborations with the best researchers from around the world.
The Research Foundation of Cerebral Palsy Alliance Small Equipment Grants are offered to provide an opportunity for essential research equipment to be purchased.
The Small Equipment Grant can be used for pieces of equipment, partial pieces of larger equipment, or basic lab items (excluding consumables). The Small Equipment Grant can include specialised IT equipment or software for specific implementation of research.
The grant cannot be used to pay for servicing of equipment or maintenance costs. Applications must demonstrate how the equipment will contribute to the existing research project.
The maximum amount can be requested is US$4,000 (for applicants based in the United States) or AU$5,000 (for applicants based in Australia and other countries). The grant period is for a maximum of 12 months after the notification of the grant award.
No extension is allowed if the grant award is not spent by the end of grant period.
- Applicants must be researchers (including PhD students) working to accelerate progress in the field of cerebral palsy research.
- Research undertaken with the equipment must add value, and contribute to accelerating progress in the field of cerebral palsy research.
- If applicable, all necessary ethics clearances and other approvals for the research must be in place before the application can be submitted.
- Individuals employed by Cerebral Palsy Alliance are not eligible to apply for this grant.
- Applicants must use the online application form accessible from the Research Foundation of Cerebral Palsy Alliance website.
- All online applications submitted before the closing date will be acknowledged by email.
- Applications must nominate a single Administering Institution who will be responsible for the management of the grant.
- A grant agreement will be made between the Research Foundation of Cerebral Palsy Alliance and the nominated Administering Institution.
- The successful applicant will be chosen at the sole discretion of the Research Foundation of Cerebral Palsy Alliance, and this decision is final. No feedback or comments will be provided.
- The Small Equipment Grant must be used for the exact details provided in the application, the grant cannot be transferred to other purchase activity (e.g. different equipment).
- Payment of the grant award will only start after the execution of the grant agreement.
- The grant award will be paid through the Administering Institution associated with, and nominated by, the grant recipient.
- Under no circumstances will payments be made to individual bank accounts.
- Subsequent grant payments will only be made upon receipt of satisfactory reports and invoices issued by the Administering Institution.
- The final report and financial acquittal must be submitted within thirty (30) days after the end of grant period.
- Grant recipients must use the Research Foundation of Cerebral Palsy Alliance reporting template.
- The Research Foundation of Cerebral Palsy Alliance reserves the right to publish or use the report (or parts of it) for Fundraising/Marketing purposes.
